Our GM Larry Christiansen today starts the show paying tribute to the late John "Gandalf" Grefe, who sadly passed away a few days ago, age 66. Grefe won the US Championship (tied for first with Lubomir Kavalek) in 1973, when he was a FIDE Master. Larry shows us a very forceful combination, with a determined and precise Grefe. In the second part of today's show, Larry goes with a Christmas gift from the great Latvian Mikhail Tal. It's easy to say that a game is a 'classic', when it comes to the Magician of Riga's games, but the attacking force of Tal in this pearl cannot be classified otherwise.
