Attack with LarryC!

Wei to go, bound for TataA

There's a kid out there who is showing he's almost ready to give the top guys some headache. 15-year-young GM Wei Yi form China won TATA Steel Group B, and qualified for the Group A next year. And he won with a stunning performance, too. His main rival, GM David Navara, had a great tournament, finishing with 10 out of 13, but that was not enough to stop the boy from the far east, who scored an amazing 10.5 points. GM Larry Christiansen, in this episode of his show, analyzes two games played by Wei, which clearly represent his attacking skills. Larry says that Wei's play reminds him of Tal, as well as Topalov and Petrosian, great practitioners of the exchange sacrifice. A new star in the chess world was born, and it's very likely we will see Wei climb the ladder and become one of the competitors for the crown.
